iAutomation is seeking a dynamic Business Development Sales Engineer in the Upstate New York area to join our Business Development Team. As part of the Business Development Team at iAutomation, you will be working closely with your fellow team members to provide hardware and software solutions that enable our customers (OEM machine builders) to implement the latest automation technology and compete in the global marketplace. You will have the opportunity to introduce superior industrial automation technologies, differentiating yourself from competing legacy solutions. You will develop lasting relationships with your customers and gain experience working in a wide variety of market segments including packaging, printing, semiconductor, medical, pharmaceutical, machine tool, alternative energy, and process control.

Job description

Responsibilities include developing and managing automation projects throughout the iAutomation geography, growing business with existing customers, and developing business through new customers. You will work internally with our Systems Engineers and Sales Engineers while utilizing our strategic suppliers to develop winning automation solutions for our customers. You will prepare technical proposals, quotations, and presentations to present your automation solutions to prospective customers. You will also be responsible for accurate and thorough sales activity reports including forecasts that will be presented to your manager. The Business Development role at iAutomation offers a perfect mixture of sales strategy and engineering competency while working with innovative customers and suppliers. If you are self-motivated, driven, and have the ability to form long-term relationships, this position will be ideal for you.

Qualificiations

Candidates must have an engineering degree in a relevant field such as Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering along with 5+ years of industry experience. Prior experience with PLCs/PACs, motion control, process control, mechatronic assemblies, or general automation projects would be preferred. Previous sales experience is a plus, but not required.
