 Change of leadership at B&R Switzerland - 03/11/2010
Effective since January 1, 2010, Paolo Salvagno (42) assumed management of B&R Switzerland. Salvagno will be taking over both the technical and business aspects of the Frauenfeld-based company from his predecessor Walter Baumann, who established and advanced the Swiss subsidiary since it was founded in 1987 and is now beginning his well-deserved retirement.

 B&R receives Intel award - 02/04/2010
The SPS/IPC/DRIVES exhibition is held annually in Nuremberg, Germany, and is the leading trade fair for automation. At last year's event, B&R was awarded a prize from Intel honoring two decades of technological partnership between the two companies. For 20 years now, B&R has been using exclusively Intel processors in all of its industrial PCs.


 Uwe Keiter joins OMAC executive committee - 01/27/2010
With the selection of Uwe Keiter from B&R Global Account Management at B&R Germany, the OMAC (Organization for Machine Automation and Control) recognizes the efforts of the automation specialist in the packaging industry. Keiter will follow in the footsteps of Markus Sandhöfner from Strategic Business Development, and take over as the representative for technology suppliers in the executive committee of the OMAC Packaging Workgroup (OPW).


 B&R automates intralogistics center - 01/22/2010
A fully-automatic high bay warehouse was constructed during expansion of the plant at the B&R headquarters in Eggelsberg. The intralogistics center with ultra-modern storage/retrieval machines and material handling systems for palettes was implemented by TGW Systems Integration GmbH. The control, visualization and drive technology all come from B&R. The high bay warehouse has a total area of 6,600 m², a shelf height of over 19 m, a shelf length of 72 m and a capacity of 18,000 palettes.
